Dress Code for ALL Classes at Evolve 26

Our Dress Code is strongly enforced at Evolve 26 because it enforces discipline, focus, a stronger work ethic, and helps teachers to clearly see and adjust body placement, position, and alignment. Please read this page carefully!!!

NO APPLE WATCHES ALLOWED WHILE DANCING!!!!!!!!!!!

• ALL DANCERS MUST ENTER AND LEAVE THE STUDIO WITH THEIR BODIES COVERED:

  • WARM UPS: JACKET / PANTS OR SHORTS AND SHIRT - (no walking out of studio in booty shorts and sports bras)

    (This can be bought through Evolve 26 if you choose)

• EVERY DANCER MUST ALSO HAVE A DANCE BAG TO CARRY:

  • Extra pair of tan tights (preferably any kind of convertible tan tights)

  • All dance shoes required for class

  • Extra hair pony tails, bobby pins, and brush (ages 7 and up)

  • Any extra hygiene products dancer may need (ages 7 and up)

• Dance shoes and all belongings should be LABELED with NAME. (Last name too, or at least Last Initial)

• Fitted, modesty underwear may be worn only if a student is wearing a leotard without tights or shorts. No underwear under dance tights!

  • (Nude briefs are available at www.discountdance.com.)

• Students must be ready and properly dressed before entering the studio room.

• Students not properly dressed, will be asked to call their parent or observe class.

• No jewelry… Small earrings are okay.

Ages: (7-11), (12-15), and (16 & up)

• Ballet/Pointe:

  • Pink Ballet / Pointe split sole shoes *POINTE SHOES ARE OPTIONAL, NOT REQUIRED*

    • (Suggest getting fitted for pointe shoes at Top Toe Dance Wear or another local dance store)

  • Hair in bun: out of face

  • Pink Ballet Convertible Tights / Black Leotard

    • Optional: Ballet skirt

• Hip Hop:

  • Tennis shoes: not too slick or too bulky

  • Comfortable loose clothing

• Tap:

  • Any (Black Lace-up) Tap Shoes: whatever is comfortable for you to learn

  • Tights / Leotard / Leggings / Sports Bra

  • Optional: Comfortable dance shirt or dance pants

• Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary:

  • Tan Jazz shoes (Bloch: “Super Jazz” Jazz Slip-On Shoe) or half-sole dance shoes / dance socks (optional) but dancer is required to have jazz shoe or half sole shoe as well)

  • Dance Leotard or Sports Bra

  • Dance / Biker Shorts (not too short- or will be asked to wear tan tights with shorts) or Leggings

    • Optional: a comfortable dance shirt that isn’t distracting

• Leaps and Turns / Technique: (All Company dancers should have ankle weights - optional for other dancers)

  • Tan Jazz shoes (Bloch: “Super Jazz” Jazz Slip-On Shoe) or half-sole dance shoes

  • Dance Leotard or Sports Bra

  • Dance / Biker Shorts (not too short- or will be asked to wear tan tights with shorts) or Leggings

  • *Hair must be pulled out of face and not a distraction*

• Stretch and Conditioning / Flexibility Classes:

  • Jazz shoes (Tan Bloch “Super Jazz” shoes) or Dance Socks (sometimes teacher may ask for bare feet)

  • Sports bra

    • Leotard is also an option but must be worn with dance booty shorts or tights

  • Leggings or Booty Shorts (shorts not too short- or will be asked to put tan tights on with shorts)

  • Hair should be out of face, not a distraction

• Industry Classes:

  • Dance Top / Dance shorts or Leggings suggested (preferably black)

  • Bring ALL Dance Shoes because the style will always be different every class!

    (Jazz shoes or Half-sole shoes, Tennis Shoes, Ballet Shoes, Tap Shoes, etc.)

  • Must have hair pulled up and out of face
